Hey all, just introducing myself. I'm an aussie. I'm mad for 1970s Mazdas (piston or rotary) and '70s Jap 4-cylinder cars in general. Last one I owned was a 4 door Mazda 1300 (Familia) sedan. My first car was a 1300 wagon and I've owned a string of 1300s and other Mazda, Toyota and Datsun thrashboxes that have been used for louting purposes
. I don't have time or money to keep a real one on the road for the moment so I've turned to building them in 1/24. I also build aircraft (more than I build cars) - mainly 1920/30s types in 1/72.
Hoping to pick up a few tips here on weathering and other finishing techniques and generally soak in the car modelling vibe. My holy grail is to scratchbuild a 1300 (wagon, sedan and coupe) in 1/24 since there's no kit, so I'm gradually building up to that.
Cheers,
Dave.
